We had dinner tonight at some good friends of ours. I don't use last names on my blog so I'll call them the B,A,N,C family here! Lochie had a great time playing with Nicholas and Alyssa! The kids are so sweet and had spent about 2 hrs earlier today working on a special project for Lochie that was a box they had coloured in and cut out a doorway for him to play in. They were a little miffed that he was too big to get in (and that he didn't particularly
want to get in!) but they

are such easy-going, good-natured kids it rolled right off their backs. It was a really sweet memory to see the two of them chasing Lochie around the backyard saying "Tag - you're it!" and Lachlan squealing in delight for being chased. I waited too long into the night to get pics and when this snap was taken Lochie was well tired and starting to get cranky. I should have thought to take photos earlier but we were having such a fun, relaxed evening - good food and good conversation. Cinji cooked a great pot roast with salad and rice sides - very scrummy! David made our ol' standby blueberry cheesecake angelfood cake pudding (it doesn't have a proper name that I know of - a friend of mine from school - Jamie - made it once for a BBQ and we've been copying it every since!).

The kids were so great with Lochie and were even very patient as he became crankier towards the end of the evening. Lochie just *loved* their dog Dakota - he has a real thing for dogs and gets very excited when he sees them. She is a real sweet old Golden Retriever - 10 years old and good with kids. He followed her around saying "Puppy! Puppy!" all night. Brent told David that the church is having a harvest celebration on October 31 and all of the kids get dressed up in their costumes and every family sets up a tailgate situation where the kids can go around and get candy - sounds like fun! Now I have to get thinking on ideas for costumes for Lochie! Post your comments with suggestions!

When we were driving home Lochie had one last burst of energy where he sang all the way home and recited his alphabet the whole drive! Took his pic as we got him out - notice his feet rest against the backs of our chairs now! He likes to kick at our armrests with his feet and chuckles when we turn around, the little stinker! We had a great night and are thankful for our wonderful friends B,A,N&C.
