Day care, Shopping and Lunch out
Today Lochie and I went to his new day care to check everything out before he starts on Tuesday. When we pulled up there was a group of the older kids in the second playground having a party and smacking around a piƱata they had made. I didn't want to be some weird lady sitting in a car in the parking lot taking pictures of other people's kids, so instead I snapped a picture of the first playground which I assume is for the littler guys like Lochie due to the diminutive play equipment! Two of the teachers there made comment on how tall he was and his own teacher, Miss Emma, said that she thought he was 2 turning 3 not 1 turning 2! She said there is another really tall boy in his class but he might be the tallest. I was pretty proud to hear that! He is about 37" tall (3'1" or 94cms) and at the 97th% percentile for height. Only prob is he has big feet to match! Kids shoe Size 7 - 7 1/2 at
age 2... I dread when he is a big 16yo!After that we went for lunch at Wendy's. Lochie got the cheeseburger and mandarin fruit cup but I let him have a handful of fries for being such a good boy at day care (he didn't scream and fuss when we left like he did the last time!). He got a Weeble as his play toy and was very excited with it!
Went to Old Navy after lunch to see if there were any school clothes bargains - got him 2 pairs of shorts and 4 t-shirts all for $10 total! I am a Clearance Rack champion!
We filled up the gas tank on the way home - David called and said he heard a rumour that gas would go up to $8/gal next week because of Katrina. Could be just speculation but still I'd rather be prepared...
Lochie has homework already for day care! We were given a piece of cardstock and we have to do a collage of "My family" with pictures. They will laminate them and hang them on the walls. It's funny but I am kind of excited about it and already have ideas for what to put. I am going to ask Lochie to draw some pictures with texters/magic markers (he has definite paper colour preferences now - I give him an option between 3 and he picks the one he likes). Then I'll get some pics of the family and give him some paste so he can stick them down.

It was Tussy's birthday yesterday and we forgot. Funny... before Lochie came along I would bake a cake and throw Tussy a birthday party every year - with paper hats and decorations and all! Now that Lachlan is the center of our worlds, the best poor ol' T-Bone can get is a pat on the head and his litter box cleaned out! What more could a cat ask for though, I suppose...
