computer disaster!

had some dramas with my computer - had to do that presentation for school in Burley and downloaded a MS Office suite from a girl in my class and foolishly didn't look at the disk before I installed it - it was for Windows 95 and I have XP! Crashed my system and I lost my presentation the night before I had to drive to Burley at 4am to present to about 300 Idahoan hygienists! Took it to Geek Squad and they told me also my hard drive has gone caput - we are *so* fortunate that it is under an extended 2 yr warranty we purchased (at the time I thought it was a waste of money and unnecessary and David went ahead and purchased it anyway and we even had an argument about it - guess who is eating humble pie now!! Guess husbands are sometimes right after all!...).

So now we have no PC until its all worked out (I didn't sleep and threw together a new powerpoint presentation on a borrowed laptop from my friend Shanell! As it was we 'won' and our table clinic was the best one their out of both Apollo and ISU students!). I will be taking a week or two hiatus from the blog. Come and check back in a fortnight or so as I'll probably have tonnes of photos to upload on the new computer and to the blog!

We lost all of our pics of Lochie since he was about 6 months old but fortunately Mum & Dad in Australia have a lot as we emailed them a bunch often. I also lost all of the notes I ever took in hygiene school so now I have nothing to study off for boards in December. Thank God He has provided for me to go to a boards review class in Sacramento, CA in October! Will have to beg my schoolfriends to download their stuff to discs for me, but am still lamenting my loss as I took merticulous notes, cross-references to texts and websites etc for the purpose of boards study! Arggggh!

All I can say it go buy a disk tonight, drag out your zip/flash drive or whatever - and back up, back up, back up your files!!!!
