a happy harvest fest

We had a great time last night at the Calvary Chapel Children's Harvest Festival at the Expo Idaho showgrounds! We met Lochie at school and dressed him there as the showgrounds are not far from his school. Lochie was a dalmation puppy this year! He kept his puppy hood on for a few photos but for the most of it kept pulling it off so we were glad we had used facepaint to make a puppy nose, whiskers and patch!

When we got to the Harvest Festival we were happy to see it had a really great turn out - there were hundreds of people and it was all set up with a toddler jumping castle, a bigger kids inflatable slide that almost touched the ceiling and heaps of games like ring toss, pick a ducky from the pond, mini basketball (Lochie LOVED that one - he kept picking up the ball and putting it the hoop after he got a prize and we had to drag him away from that one so the other kids in line could get a turn!). There was also a barrel ride, free all-you-can-eat popcorn, cotton candy (fairy floss for the Aussies!) and sno-cones. Lochie got a LOT of candy (more than he would ever want or need!) and he also won a cake on the cake walk game! It was a big chocolate fudge cake with rich fudge icing and candy corns on it! Lochie and Daddy had to march around a ring and when the music stopped they had to stop on a number. If the number was drawn out of a hat, they won a cake. Lochie and I had a few goes unsuccessfully but had fun marching around the ring to the music as the ring was covered in straw and styrofoam puffs, Lochie had fun stomping on them and making a crunch sound!
Lochie was very tired when it was
all finished but we had a great time.

Lochie keeps saying "candy? candy?" all the time now. Unfortunately almost all the candy went missing the first night.....

His teeth will thank us later!
