cows and croup

This is Lochie's artwork from 10/10. It was 'Colour a Cow'. Lochie makes me chuckle. I pasted this Calvin & Hobbes comic because it reminds me of someone we know!

Lochie was sent home today as he was coughing and David took him straight to the docs - he has croup!

He'll have tomorrow off school and doc has given him some corticosteroids and Robitussin for relief but it is a parainfluenza virus so not much else we can do apart from steam showers, humidifier, cool fresh air and TLC.

I did a mock board exam today. I was shocked it was suprisingly easy. Some other girls were saying how hard they thought it was though so I don't know if I just selected the obvious answers and didn't read far enough into it, or if I fluked it and chose the right ones. I go to Sacramento next week for a Boards Review class so that should help. Should have an interesting day tomorrow with prep for a VA hospital oral hygiene presentation, Lochie being sick and SRP (quad scale) on a Class III patient in the evening clinic!

Lochie had a Scholastic Book Fair at school and we got a couple of great books. He was a little lethargic and in a low-key mood tonight so we just lay in bed and leafed through them.
Usually when I do the funny voices he laughes and wants me to read the book over and over but tonight he just cuddled up and had a quiet half-smile on his face when I read to him.

Please pray for Lochie to get over the croup ASAP and be back to his normal, happy, wild monkey self!
